Advocating with young refugees

In this course we will equip you with the necessary information required to understand some of the legal processes faced by this particular group including Immigration and Children’s Services.

You will learn the relevant rights and entitlements under The Children Act 1989 and The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 including case law, guidance and the roles of other professionals. Throughout the day we consider the realities these young people experience and their particular challenges. By the end of the day you will understand the rights of this group, apply your knowledge to actual cases and to demonstrate empathy for the difficulties that they face.
