Out of sight NOT out of mind: championing the rights of young people in the secure estate

In this course you will gain an overview of the secure estate and the experience and issues faced by young people. You will learn the essentials of Children’s Rights (both Universal and those within The
Children Act 1989) when supporting young people who have had their liberty restricted. You will practice mechanisms for achieving outcomes for young people through effective advocacy. We also explore safeguarding, confidentiality and practice issues within the secure estate.
