PTTLS

What is PTTLS?

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLS) is the threshold qualification for teachers and trainers in Further Education, Adult and Community Learning and Workplace Learning.

Voice is currently offering the opportunity to gain this qualification free to Voice staff who are accepted as potential approved Voice trainers.

PTTLS is worth 6 credits on the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) (see our accredited qualification page for more details about the QCF.) Voice are offering accreditation with the National Open College Network through learning provider Reshapers CIC.

What does the qualification involve?

Depending on previous experience, most people will need to attend a two day Train the Trainer course. This will include delivering a 15 mins micro-teaching session and feeding back to your fellow learners.

You will also need to put together a portfolio of evidence. This contains 3 short assignments (average 500 words each) and a practice file based on the micro-teaching. This will be assessed by an experienced teacher and assessor from Reshapers CIC.

To help you with this Voice will provide teaching and a workbook in the training course, guided reading and optional distance learning materials.

The guided learning hours for this qualification is 30 hours, including the 2 training days.
